The art of applying henna in hands
and feet is known as Mehndi and it is a very old custom and ancient art
form of India. The propagators were the Mughals. The Mughals brought
Mehndi to India during 12th century AD. During that period the royal
and rich use to decorate themselves with it. The patterns are done by
the artists or the beauticians. Henna / mehndi tattooing is
traditionally body decoration that started about 5,000 years ago. It’s
supposed to be all natural. Henna / mehndi when applied to the skin
provide cooling and astringent action along with protection against
many surface fungi and bacteria. Henna can help to lower body

the henna on the palms of the bride. Mehndi from the mother symbolizes
happiness, prosperity and love which she takes to her new home. The
mehendi that comes from the mother-in-law signifies love for her
daughter-in-law, welcoming her into their family.

designs too, which are preferred by all people. Henna / mehndi
